A Little Card…….

I made this card after finally cutting in to my Springtime Vintage Papers.  I had got these papers out looked at them, they’re so pretty, stroked them and then put them back, many many times so it was about time i cut into them and shared their prettiness.

I made this little card just to say we was thinking of Mr.C’s Nan as she had a bad day to deal with earlier in the week and i do hope that it cheered her up a bit.

I made a 4’’x4’’ blank from Crumb Cake card stock and cut a slightly smaller square layer out of a scrap bit of Whisper White card stock.  I covered the Whisper White Square with some DSP strips, as shown below;

DSC00862

I used the Whisper White Square so that i could wrap my ribbon around the join in my papers and have the ends hidden.  The DSP is the same sheet but the bottom strip is the other side of the sheet.  I then added some little Rhinestones to give it a little something extra.

Here is the completed card;

Well until next time

A Little Late . . . . . .

Evening all i hope you are well, i am at least on the mend now so i thought i best catch up on my blogging.  Mr.C is watching something god-awful and boring so i thought after the bath and PJ’s routine i would catch up with you nice people.  I have just made something which if i must say so myself is lovely but i shall save that for later in the week.

The project i am sharing today is the calendar i made for my craft space for July, i meant to blog it at the beginning of the month but as always other things happened and this photo got ‘lost’ in the file. lol.

DSC00848

The base card is crumb cake cardstock the DSP is perfect plum from the Stampin’ Up! Subtles collection.  I have used the 2 step owl punch to make a Mr and Mrs Owl to sit on the corner. And the Calendar is printed onto whisper white cardstock from Word on Windows Office.

Hope you like it.

Until next time

Another little Baby Blossoms Card.

Morning all, Looking forward to a quiet weekend this week as we have had far too much going on lately i need some time just to flop on the sofa in my PJ’s!

So here is another little card that i made while i had my Baby Blossoms stamp set out. I cut the 4”x4” base myself from SU Certainly Celery cardstock and used up the tiniest bit of Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding left over from yesterday’s projects, seriously it was no more than and inch and a half long!

DSC00827

I have stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock, the stems are Certainly Celery and the blossoms are Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink all from the SU Subtles Colour Family.  I love that the colours work so well together and that things actually match when they are listed as the same colour.  No more hours wasted searching for the right colour card to match your ink, as all the hard work is done for you.  That has to be one of my favourite things about Stampin’ Up!’s product range.

The Frame was stamped in Certainly Celery Ink on both Whisper White and a scrap of Certainly Celery Cardstock then layered up to focus the sentiment.  The Sentiment is from the Wedding Sweet stamp set that i used for my wedding invitations, but i think that the curly script is perfect for this style and was stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink as i felt that Black would be too harsh for this piece.

I have this stamp set in the clear mount and i find that nine times out of ten i can line these up easily as they are of course a Two-Step stamp set and although this can be little fiddly i think that the effect is so worth it!  I love Cath Kidston and i love that these stamps help you create items with the same feel with very little effort.

Until next time

A Non Christmas Post!…….Baby Blossoms

Morning all! Hope you are well?
Well i thought a different project today, as you may be a bit fed up of the Christmas posts from all us crafters but we have to think early for Christmas as my Friend informed us via Facebook the other day there is only 158 days till Christmas!
So in my before mentioned Birthday order from Stampin’ Up! i ordered the Baby Blossoms stamp set in clear mount, and i had hardly inked it up so on Saturday while Mr.C and the girls went out for a ‘‘Splash Walk’’ i got myself situated and got inky.

Now what do you do while you craft?? Do you listen to music? or have a TV or DVD running in the background? Normally for me its a DVD of some kind and this weekend it was series two of the legendary 70s comedy “Are You Being Served?” which is one of my favourite all time programmes i love all the risky double entendre and the non offensiveness of it all.
And there’s me off topic again! Useless aren't I?  Can you imagine living with me?
So here is my project it is not using your traditional colours for flowers i have used Crumb Cake with Chocolate Chip to stamp the rose heads and the leaves are Certainly Celery and i have used the Pear Pizazz Seam Binding to add texture;
DSC00820DSC00826
The Celebrate! sentiment came from the level 2 Hostess Set from the Mini Catalogue, called Something to Celebrate.

I also made a stack of pillow boxes to match;
DSC00823DSC00822
And here is the completed set;
DSC00825
I think that they look pretty effective if i do say so myself!  I think that they would be perfect for a lady that ‘just doesn’t do girly’

Until next time

Christmas in July ……. Part Three

Hello again this is another scheduled post as today we will be celebrating little H’s very first birthday!  Last year at 10.36 am (two minutes before her older sister M was born in the same hospital and theatre with the same surgeon four years earlier) little H entered the world and captured everyone with her beautiful blue eyes so happy birthday to my little bumble bee!

As always i have digressed! lol This is the final part of the Christmas in July Training posts.  At these Training Days there are a number of projects for us to produce some cards and a few 3D items.

Here are some of the projects that i made that were designed by Monica Gale and you can see her blog for the details;

My Very First Blog Award!!

I am in complete shock! i have just received this award from Elaina at Moulin Rouge Designs.

I am not quite sure that i deserve this but thank you so much anyway it is so nice to see that my blog is actually being read by somebody and that they like it.  Mr.C has been winding me up saying that my blog is just my mad rambles! lol

Well as i understand it i now have to divulge 7 facts about myself. So here goes;

1. I have been stamping since i was 8 years old when my Granddad brought me my first stamp (i am 25 years old now!) which i still have and i have been crafting in one way or another since i can remember. So i have been a stamper for more of my life now than not!

2. As well as paper crafting i also enjoy cross stitching, sewing items for the home and making lace by hand with bobbins a skill taught to me by my Nan.

3. I love to bake but i don’t really eat cakes or biscuits!

4. I went to Agricultural College and studied Animal Care

5. Even though i studied Art at GCSE and A Level i can not draw for toffee! I am an abstract artist my Husband is the fine artist in our household.

6. I used to sell my handmade cards at craft fairs across Essex, and when i was on a roll i could make up to 200 cards in a week!

7. My favourite sweets and ice creams are coffee flavour but i cannot stand the taste of coffee to drink!

Well that’s more than you ever needed to know about me! lol

I now get to pass this award onto 7 other fantastic Crafters.

I would like to pass it onto;

1. Caroline at Stampin’ Up! and Branching Out!

2. Donna at Head Over Heels

3. Victoria at Blue Jelly Stampin

4. Monica at My Many Passions

5. Becki at Sunshine Stamping

6. Julie at Julies Japes

7. Bekka at Feeling Crafty

I check out these ladies blogs all the time and feel very lucky to call some of them my friends.

So please hop on over and see their inspiring works.

And thank you again to Elaina for giving me this award.

Until next time

P.S: come back tomorrow for Part Three of my “Christmas in July” posts.

Christmas in July …… Part Two.

Hello! Good Morning i am hoping that today it rains less than it did yesterday as it’s Milli’s Friends’ 4th Birthday today and is having a birthday party today so finger’s crossed it won’t be rained off!  (This is a scheduled post so i have no idea what the weather is doing i am just giving this scheduling lark a go! lol)

So down to business and Part two of the Peterborough Christmas in July Training day.

So at these training days we swap the swaps that we made for about 40 swaps that the other attendants have made.  This has to be one of my favourite bits of the training days as it often makes me look again at a stamp set that i have overlooked in the past.  Often adding to my wish list much to the dismay of Mr.C who already thinks i have too many stamp sets! lol Although i have a lot less than when we first met, as back then i have over 1000 before Mr.C gave up counting with two more boxes full left to count!!!  But as i am changing over to all SU i have slowly sold them all off and now only have a tiny amount, its like being a brand new crafter!  And i do feel that i have been revitalised!  However i digress! lol

So here are some photos of the fantastic swaps that i received in return for the ones that i made.

Firstly a traditional red and green coloured selection, a more modern colour selection of blue tones;

DSC00777DSC00780

Cor! My desk looks messy in these photos, i promise it is tidy sometimes lol Mr.C is VERY tidy so i have to clear up after myself each night otherwise he gets twitchy and i just no he is dying to go tidy it up!

I love to look at all the swaps and will often get them out to have a look when i am having a crafting block.  I keep them all in a box together on the shelves above my desk so that they are close at hand but i do want to put them safely into scrapbooks at some point.  Another task to add to my list, along with finishing a piece of lace i started long before little H was even conceived!

Another Fantastic Benefit of attending these days is that there is an inspiration area manned by lovely Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.  Lots of gorgeous projects are on display all on the same theme to which we are working to which this time is of course Christmas.

Here are a few photo’s from the booths one was manned by Marissa other by Ann (i think! i am terrible with names so sorry please correct me if i am wrong)

image

So i have a lovely album of photos to flick through now to draw on for inspiration.  I feel so lucky that i am allowed to take part in these events and that everyone is so welcoming even though i am not officially part of the team (yet! watch this space he he!) So thank you very much Monica and Bekka and all the team for being so welcoming and lovely.

And of course thank you to Caroline for introducing me into the Fantastic team that she is part of.

Until next time

Christmas in July ……Part One.

Evening all, i hope that this finds you well?  Sorry for the lack of posts last week.  I went to the Peterborough Training Day organised by Monica and Bekka on the Sunday and enjoyed myself immensely but came home completely shattered, which obviously was touch paper for a lurking bug that had been threatening me to pounce and wipe me out!  I spent most of last week feeling sorry for myself , whilst trying to carry on with a very busy week which included Milli’s last day a Pre-School (Sob!). but i did manage to fit in a few hours crafting this weekend which i will share with you later but first…….My Swaps!

I had more notice for this training day but that didn’t mean that making my swaps was any easier, in fact it was harder because i kept changing my mind on what i was going to do!  But that does mean that i will have some extra projects to share with you in the future.

So firstly i made a pouch for sweets using the Top Note die for the Big Shot and the SU Ornament Punch.  I chose an unusual colour way of Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink (partly because i had lots of these colours left over from my wedding invites earlier in the year, and partly because i like it! lol) even the sweet wrappers were pink and green!

DSC00724DSC00725-1

But i only had enough sweets to make 6!! so i had to go back to the drawing board.  I asked my lovely friend Caroline if i could borrow her Pillow Box die for the Big Shot and kindly she agreed and even drove it all the way to me even though it is nearly an hours drive!!

SO……using the same colour way i sat myself in front of the TV with my Big Shot and cut 20 in each colour then using the bauble from the Contempo Christmas stamp set i stamped 20 of each in matching SU Ink.  I assembled them with a belly band of DSP from the Subtles Stack, and here they are;

DSC00723

I think that they look pretty good if i do say so myself! LOL  i shall be back soon with part two and the swaps that i received in return plus photos of the gorgeous items on display in the Inspiration Area.

Until next time

just a quick one…..

Hello i hope that this finds you well, just a quick one to let you know that i am still alive and crafting but i am in the middle of making Christmas swaps for an event that i am going to on Sunday.  I promise to be back with photos soon.

we had a meeting of the craft group last night, and after a room change due to a school play we had a good night.  It was lovely to meet new people and see old friends too.  And lucky me i had a delivery of a paper share to me from the lovely Caroline so i do think that i need to do some springtime vintage projects once i have finished my swaps.

Until next time
