A flip card….

Morning Dear Reader, i hope you are well today? It’s a bit gloomy here today but i hope that the sun will make an appearance at some point. Just a quick post from me today as my Mum is coming over later.

Today i am sharing a flip card which was made using the circle card thinlits dies, it takes all the faff out of doing the flip cards as you just roll it through the big shot and its done, and i love anything that makes bits easier!

Scrapping on a Weekend…..

Hello Dear Reader Happy Saturday, i hope that this post finds you well. I plan to spend the whole morning crafting as i have a few cards to make for my husband’s Nan.

So today i am sharing with you a scrapbooking layout using the soho subway papers {my last one for now ;) i promise} where as some of my other layouts using these papers are fairly feminine this layout is much more masculine.

papaya collage scrapbook craftylittlemoos 04-10-2013 04-10-2013 14-17-53

I ripped the map page and adhered it to the base cardstock so as to make the pocket for the luggage labels for journaling. Then simply added a sanded layer of co-ordinations cardstock and then my photo mount. A few splodges from the gorgeous grunge set; which is never off my desk let me tell you; and we’re done.  Now just to catch Mr. C with the camera so that i can add the photos to my layouts!!

Have a great weekend

Until next time

Hexagon Thank you ….

Good Morning Dear Reader, i hope that you are well?  I feel i am living my life by the BBC Weather App at the moment trying to catch the sun long enough to dry the clothes :)

Well here is the project i am sharing with you today, a thank you card of the clean and simple persuasion.

hexagon butterfly craftylittlemoo

I’ve used the six sided sampler stamp set to create this card in smokey slate and soft sky inks, topped off with a vellum butterfly and a few rhinestones for a bit of bling.  I think it is quick effective having lots of white space although it can be a little scary and you can feel like you need to fill that space sometimes it works if you don’t.

Well that’s it from me today, have a great day.

Until next time

Best of flowers …..

Morning Dear Reader, BBC Weather App tells me that it will be sunny all day here so i plan to empty my laundry basket and get it all smelling fresh on the line, i also need to get ready for a night with the Girls Brigade i will be helping them make Mother’s Day cards.

Here is a card that could easily be used as a Mother’s Day card or really any occasion if you just switch out the sentiment.

best of flowers craftylittlemoo

This card uses one of the flowers from the Best of Flowers set i stamped it by eye {you could use a stamp-a-ma-jig} to create a monochrome background with staz on. Then i simply mounted it on a black card blank and with a pop of Melon Mambo for the sentiment banner it was done. A nice quick card, which i think is quite effective. What do you think?

Right on with that washing, have a good day.

Until next time

Scrapbooking……at the Weekend

Morning Dear Reader, hope this Sunday Morning finds you well? It is sunny here at the moment but we have lots of rain forecast later, of course when we are off in Cambridge no doubt!

Yesterday i scrapped all day with the dear friend Sue, we got lots done i did 4 layouts!!

Here’s today’s Layout…

papaya collage scrapbook craftylittlemoos 04-10-2013 14-19-36

This is a very involved page, first i started by inking the base cardstock then i rolled the musical notes stamp over it before stamping over again with the big beautiful Swallowtail stamp set. The blue cathedral ceiling paper strip i scrunched and inked before covering with clear embossing power so it shimmers like glass. I then also stamped with the bird and leaves and the butterfly stamps from the Papaya College stamp set the frame is also from this set.  Which i stamped twice and cut the middle out of one before layering them up for a bit of dimension.

That’s it from me today have a great Sunday and i will be back in the week with another project.

Until next time

What i did at the weekend…..

Morning Dear Reader; i hope this day finds you well? Its lovely and sunny here i hope it is for you too.  Every Monday morning my eldest has to write in her ‘Weekend News’ book at school a little about what she did at the weekend, sometimes she writes out and out fibs, like the time she wrote she went to Disneyland Paris for the weekend…..wishful thinking!! So thats where the title for todays post came from.

Well this weekend saw the start of my craft room build, Mr C ripped all the wood and odd nails that were randomly scattered about the place and then he started to waterproof the ceiling, o em gee! that stuff stank to high heaven!!

Now while he was doing this i was getting ready for my last craft fair, i had already committed to it before i was unable to be a demo any longer so i roped in my friend Sue to help me on the promise of bacon rolls and cake ;).  So my Saturday was all about DIY and packing and my Sunday was all about the Essex Lace Makers’ Suppliers Fair.

ELM Fair craftylittlemoos.blogspot.com

Here is our stand in the coveted main corridor everyone had to walk past us to get anywhere so we talked to everyone :). You can also see my lovely friend Sue demo-ing for me, Sue taught people all about paper craft while the lacemakers’ taught Sue all about Lace.

Now i know i said last craft fair and that maybe the case but then again i may do one again but this is definitely my last for a good while.  We had a free prize draw at the Fair which was very popular also, what i like most about fairs is talking to so many nice people.  And the bonus was for me is that i managed to get a pair of lace bobbins with a lovely bumble be painted on them.

Well until next time

Scrapbook Saturday….

Good Morning Dear Reader, i thought that i would get back in the swing of showing my scrapbook layouts by sharing them on a Saturday.  So here’s my first one;

smile scrapbook layout craftylittlemoos

This layout is on a white base, i really like white bases its such a clean look and a great place to start a pared down layout where your photo’s take centre stage. The crisp cantaloupe layer is co-ordinations cardstock that i have sanded to show the white core, i have layered this with a pleated piece of DSP from the Soho Subway collection {i said i loved  this paper lol!}topped with a couple of lengths of linen thread to add some texture.

The frames are from the papaya collage stamp set a great one for layering images, they were all embossed.  Now that doesn’t mean that i have tons of colours of embossing powder in fact i have clear, black, and two types of silver.  Yet i still managed to emboss in colour on  this page and the trick to doing this is to versamark your stamp before you ink with your colour choice which then means you can emboss with clear powder and have any colour of embossing that you want without buying tons of powders that you then have to store.

Well i hope that you like this layout, have a lovely weekend and i shall catch you soon.

Until next time

Life!

Hello Dear Reader, i am sorry that i have neglected my blog for so long i have no real excuse other than life! Life just got in the way weather it be ill health and then my computer going up the wall {again!} i would just like to write last year off and start again this year :)

So some things have changed here, Due to ill health i have decided to take a break from being a Stampin’ Up! Demo for a while i will be back but at the moment i cannot commit to being a demo.  I will and am still crafting so will be sharing plenty of projects with you especially as my lovely Hubby sorted me a BRAND new {and not just new to me} laptop! eep!! Sunday i was like a child at Christmas when we went to collect my loverly purple (!) laptop!!  I have also changed the look of my blog i felt it was time to get a cleaner look and i am really loving this template. I may make a few more changes such as fonts but at the moment i am loving it :)

And some things haven’t changed at all, i am still driving my OCD Hubby bonkers with my messy ways when  i am in a creative mood.  I am still crafting away and i have loads to share with you.  Ooo oo and work has started on my new craft room {finally!} after two years of it being used for storage it has now been cleared ready for the first step of damp proofing to begin.  I cant wait to get in there and be able to craft and shut the door mid project if i need to do something else.

Right so that’s more than enough of me waffling on….. here’s the project i am sharing with you today.

to be edited10

This is my aptly named Life mini Album, it is decorated with Soho Subway DSP, i love this collection i think i have got through at least 3 packs since they launched last year and for someone who doesn’t do paper that’s a lot.  This book was made as a display sample for a craft show i helped out with last September.  The pages for the book are hand-stitched together by me and are watercolour papers. I am planning to use it for just bits that don’t go in my other albums which are themed.

This is a heavily layered piece, i started sponging the base cardstock and then stamping the gorgeous swallowtail butterfly and using the notes wheel stamp.  Then the blue DSP which i think looks like a cathedral type ceiling, i scrunched and ripped it up and then inked the raised edges before covering the whole piece in versamark and clear embossing powder, this has given it a lovely enamelled look.  I used lots of heat embossing on this piece i love how if you emboss an image in clear it gives great interest without shouting at you.

Right that’s it from me today, hope that you are all having a lovely sunshine filled day like we are today it sure makes a great change from the rain we have been having lately i am really hoping that this is a turning point in the weather.

Until next time
