Star This and That Book

Good Morning Dear Reader, i hope that this post finds you well?  I think i am doing pretty well with blogging all month.  So last week i said that i had had two this and that books that had sat unloved until inspiration struck, and once i had done the first one i had to do the other for my girls and all the days out that we have planned this year.

Now like most small people my girls are slightly obsessed with the film Frozen so maybe i was channelling the film a little with my colour scheme.

stars this and that

But of course i didn’t want to cover it with snowflakes so i went with Stars, some of these stars are from the simply stars stamp set, another is from the perfect pennants stamp set, I also punched some stars and inked through with versamark ink. I heat embossed the stars using silver and pewter embossing powder and also in iridescent powder.  I used gorgeous grunge and some of the SU light blues to build the background again over a white craft ink base.

Here are some close up’s

I love how the different powders catch the light in different ways.

Until next time

Scrapbook Saturday….

Good Morning Dear Reader, i thought that i would get back in the swing of showing my scrapbook layouts by sharing them on a Saturday.  So here’s my first one;

smile scrapbook layout craftylittlemoos

This layout is on a white base, i really like white bases its such a clean look and a great place to start a pared down layout where your photo’s take centre stage. The crisp cantaloupe layer is co-ordinations cardstock that i have sanded to show the white core, i have layered this with a pleated piece of DSP from the Soho Subway collection {i said i loved  this paper lol!}topped with a couple of lengths of linen thread to add some texture.

The frames are from the papaya collage stamp set a great one for layering images, they were all embossed.  Now that doesn’t mean that i have tons of colours of embossing powder in fact i have clear, black, and two types of silver.  Yet i still managed to emboss in colour on  this page and the trick to doing this is to versamark your stamp before you ink with your colour choice which then means you can emboss with clear powder and have any colour of embossing that you want without buying tons of powders that you then have to store.

Well i hope that you like this layout, have a lovely weekend and i shall catch you soon.

Until next time
